The non-profit was co-founded in the year 1994 by Jeevan Zutshi as the first Indo-American organization to build bridges with mainstream organizations, diverse leadership, think tanks, and public officials. The annual Unity Dinner 2002 was initiated to Unify different cultures and groups after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Unity through Diversity: The Future of America’s Seniors Dear Supporters, The tenth anniversary of Unity dinner event was celebrated by Indo-American Community Federation (IACF-USA) in association with Global organization of the people of Indian origin (GOPIO-San Francisco) on Friday March 25, 2011 in Fremont Marriott. All the organizations whether Indian or mainstream came together to send message of peace and unity to the civilized world. More than 60 public officials attended and honored the work of the organization in uniting people of all shades.

FDA Dietary Supplements talk of the night at IACF dinner FREMONT: The who is who of Northern California, whether in the community or in the political arena came together with seriousness and elegance at the 9th annual Indo-American Community Federation (IACF) unity dinner at the Fremont Marriott on March 26. Zutshi Foundation aims to fight use of OTC drugs George Joseph A personal tragedy for Jeevan Zutshi, founder of the Indo-American Community Federation, turned into a talking point for the Unity Dinner ’08 held at the Newark Fremont Hilton in California. Less than two months ago, his elder son Amit Zutshi, who was 30, died. The family believes his death was a result of overusing over-the-counter health supplements. The shocked family decided to create awareness about the problem, setting up the Amit Zutshi Foundation to help children. The 7th Annual Unity Dinner, a signature event of the IACF, was attended by among others, US Representative Pete Stark; John Garamendi, the state lieutenant governor; Dr Leland Yee, state senator; Pete McHugh, Santa Clara county supervisor; Scott Haggerty and Nate Miley.

The fifth  annual Unity Dinner — an event that celebrates the city of Fremont’s diversity — is  being hosted March 24 at the Newark-Fremont Hilton, sponsored by the  Indo-American Community Federation. Fremont community activist Jeevan Zutshi is the organizer. He moved to the United States from Kashmir 33 years ago and hosts the dinner as a way to bring people of different faiths and cultures together. This year, Zutshi’s  theme of “unity”‘ will coincide with Fremont’s 50th anniversary. Zutshi has lined up  entertainers representing various countries, including Italy, China, Mexico and India. This year’s keynote speaker is U.S. Rep. Mike Honda, D-Campbell. Other elected  officials expected to attend are Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi, state  Assemblyman Alberto Torrico, D-Fremont, Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty, San Jose Vice Mayor Cindy Chavez and Hayward City Councilman Bill Quirk.As of this  week, Zutshi said, 200 tickets have been sold and there are 130 seats left.

As the name suggests, “Unity Dinner 2005” organized by the Indo-American Community Federation was all about bringing various ethnic communities in the San Francisco Bay Area together for one night to celebrate the amalgamation of diverse cultures that has become a unique symbol of this region. The sell-out event was held at the Newark-Fremont Hilton Jan 21, and is the fourth annual dinner organized by the IACF. As the night began, members from the Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Chinese, Filipino and Caucasian communities intermingled and sat together at tables exchanging views and ideas with close to 70 public officials also present at the occasion.

Unity in 2003, Event with dinner, performances and dignitaries hopes to create understanding – A report by Sara Dunn, The Argus January 1, 2003 FREMONT – The Indo-American Community Federation will hold its second “Unity Dinner” in an effort to forge a strong bond and sense of understanding between the different ethnic, religious and cultural groups living in the Tri-City area. While the evening will feature Indian cultural performances, the Jan. 24 event is meant to bring the community together rather than just to highlight a particular group. “It will bring together not only the different religious groups from India but all the other diverse groups (living in the area),” said Jeevan Zutshi, founder of the federation.

FREMONT — It’s a party of sorts and it’s celebrating the city of Fremont. “This community really is amazing,” said Unity Dinner 2002 organizer Jeevan Zutshi. “There has been no backlash whatsoever since Sept. 11 and I am proud of that. So we are celebrating the togetherness that this diverse community has demonstrated.” On Friday, Zutshi and his organization, the Indo-American Community Federation, are honoring the city of Fremont for that accomplishment.Unity Dinner 2002 is an evening of gourmet food, music and conversation celebrating the “tolerance, mutual respect and understanding” that is shown in Fremont among all communities, Zutshi said.
